A Sustainable and Fun Valentine's Day (It's All About Balance)

Show your loved ones (& Mother Earth) some love this year with this list from your friends at HumBird.

Valentine's Day is quickly approaching and love is in the air ... and so is the unnecessary pressure!
Let's put the pressure aside and look at some easy, healthy and eco-friendly options to show your loved ones you care.

Check out our Valentine's Day Gift List curated by HumBird Admin, Aimee Lee.

Bath & Beauty

Wato Soap If you follow us on Instagram you know we love this small, family company. These Japanese remedies are absolutely stunning and healthy, eco-friendly options for the entire family. We love the beautiful handmade soaps and our kids love the Furo Fizz for the bath. Healthy bath bombs without the plastic wrap and artificial dyes and fragrances, YES PLEASE!

Dime Beauty I hadn't worn a scent for 6 years until I discovered this healthy option. The have a small sampler pack which is such a nice option too! ILYSB (I Love Your Smell, Baby) and Lovely Dreams are my go-tos. (So is the eyelash serum - it actually works!) And I know from personal experience that they have amazing customer service. Something that I know from working at HumBird takes a lot of effort and truly caring about each and every customer.

Intimate Apparel

HumBird My life seriously changed with the first pair of merino wool undergarments I got from HB. You have never felt luxury until you slip on a pair. I never thought I would be wearing merino wool underwear and merino wool bras ... and look and feel sexy in them! Seriously check out the model photos on the website. Size inclusive, slow fashion and the highest quality products. The perfect gift for you Galentine, your Valentine and YOURSELF!  In fact, I will be purchasing myself a new Deep V bra in the yet-to-be released color Dusty Rose (sneak peak) opening up 1/25. Need help with sizing? email us or give the gift of a gift card.

Sweets!

JoJo's Chocolates Valentine's Day not the same without sweets? I L-O-V-E these chocolates! Low in sugar, super yummy and made with quality ingredients and no hidden yuckies. Serving size is extremely generous. My favorite is the original (dark chocolate, pistachios, cranberries, almonds) and my husband's favorite is Peanut Butter Delight ( a more decadent choice for peanut butter cup lovers). And our kids, well, they love them all.

Homemade Family Fun

Family Pizza Party. Every year we skip the reservations and make homemade pizzas and the entire family loves it. We attempt heart shaped pizzas (taste amazing even when they inevitably come out wonky). Set up an ingredients bar and let the kids top their own pizzas (works with frozen pizzas too). Fun for the kids but my husband and I started this tradition the first year we started dating. For desert we usually have fresh whipped cream and berries or make easy homemade hot chocolate (topped with fresh whipped cream of course) and watch a movie at home. OR order pizza, buy a pre-baked crust or bake from frozen and buy some ice cream! Last year we baked from frozen, had popcorn and ice cream and played Candy Land, one of our best celebrations yet! No stress, just focusing on the fun and connection and doing what I am able. This needs to be fun for everyone (including me) and that doesn't always include homemade, but does always include cuddles!

Valentine Play Dough last year I made a super easy no-bake play dough in festive colors and made a pretend play cookie bakery station for my 5yo and 3yo. They loved it! This year I ordered them each a slime from PeachyBbies. It's all about balance (and I don't really want to learn how to make slime right now, lol).

How will you be celebrating this year?
